someday summary #2> my french exchange experience

punted along in these little things- thank God the weather stayed sunny is all I can say!
I spent five days in France, in a little place called Magné in Niort, which is is the west/ south west of France. The school took us to La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, Futuroscope and a few other places, which were all thoroughly enjoyable. In the evening, my family took me for a tour around their town, to a nice dinner in a restaurant(which I would definitely recommend to you, but I forgot the name-oops!) and bowliing with some of the other French exchanges.

taken along this beautiful river to waste half an hour before we arrived back in Niort

being a keen sailor, I couldn't help but look at the boats and compare them to back home
It rained most days, but we got lucky on the Wednesday and the sun came out in the morning for the boat trip. At one point, our tour guide seemed to set alight to the water and he pumped the soil with the punting stick, which released a gas that he then put his lighter to. What sorcery!

the streets here are so quaint and make me feel like i've stepped back in time
mm.. macaroons! mooching around a french patisserie
The food the school provided for us wasn't all that great, so I chucked it in the bin and bought my own food wherever we were. Meals with my family were lovely (except for having to eat a few meats I didn't want to..) and I've grown very fond of brioche for

loved this bit of street art and graffiti we found.. soft grunge seems to work so well in these sorts of areas
What was your French Exchange- or any other exchange- like?

guest post> Charlotte Ronson exposed

Bonjour dolls! My name is Brittany from and I am honored to be doing a Guest Post for Sarah! Like Sarah, I'm completely obsessed with beauty products and blogging. Feel free to click over there and see for yourself all the goodies. Anyways, I am here to do this post for Sarah since she is away for the week and she isn't able to post much. Hope you enjoy!

So lately I've been completely obsessed with Charlotte Ronson products, and my issue is, that not that many beauty bloggers have been talking about them! So I'm here to break that ice- right in half!

Charlotte Ronson is a New York fashion designer, born and raised in London, who has now branched off into the makeup world. Her beauty line is specifically designed for Sephora, and you can find any of her products there.

Three products of Charlotte Ronson's that I have been obsessing over are her Eyeshadow palette in Drea, her 3x The Charm Luminizer, Blush and Bronzer palette in Shoshanna and her A Summer's Kiss face and body glow.

Drea Eyeshadow palette:

Ignoring my old watermark (whoops) this eye palette is seriously one favorites. I use it almost daily. It's a great palette for creating a dark or neutral smokey eye look. And the eyeshadows are smooth and feel light but long lasting on your eyelid. The colors are vibrant and noticeable, making this palette versatile and very effective for a bold look.

Shoshanna 3x The Charm:

This trio palette is my main daily face palette. The bronzer (on the right) gives you a soft natural glow that is easy to spread along your face. The soft powder also makes the color subtle and not overbearing. The blush (in the middle) is a soft peachy pink that gives your cheekbones a touch of color with a tad bit of glimmer mixed in. And the Luminizer (on the left) gives the apples of your cheeks a nice highlight without making your face shiny.

A Summer's Kiss face and body Glow:

With the Spring and Summer trends starting to hit every store imaginable, it's normal for us to want to be darker. And with the sun coming and going lately, this glow lotion helps create a soft glow of color on your skin without overdoing it. It's great for days that you want to wear a cute skirt, or maybe white clothing and not look like you're blending into the cloth, hehe.

Welp, there you have it! Charlotte Ronson's beauty line is quickly taking over my beauty products and becoming most of my favorites. It's about time the rest of the world discovered her and tried it out!! I definitely recommend all of these products, especially for spring and summer looks.

Have you tried out any Charlotte Ronson products? How did you feel about them?

guest post> how fake are you?

Hello! My name is Valérie, I blog at Scribbles of Valérie! I was really excited when Sarah asked me to write a guest post on her blog. Since Sarah and I both have kind of beauty blogs, I thought it was appropriate to talk a little bit more about "being fake".

For starters, I really hate the word "fake". It makes me think of fake designer hand bags and I don't think it's a word that should be used on people, but hey haven't we all used the word every once in a while? Lately I've been trying to be less judgemental about people - not that I'm a really mean person, but I think everyone judges everyone, whether it's about a piece of clothing you don't like or some eye shadow. It's a little bit controversial of me to call this article "how fake are you?" but read on and you'll understand what I mean!

There's this very big misunderstanding that girls who wear makeup do it because they are insecure or ugly when they don't wear any, so basically it's all about what other people think and they're so stuck in a rut because every morning they NEED to apply makeup. False! I think a lot of girls apply makeup because it's fun to play around with all this stuff and it's kind of girly. I personally don't really wear tons of makeup, but I do enjoy some mascara every now and then. I might even apply foundation on evenings when I'm going to meet friends. Most of us girls, use makeup because they like how they look with it, isn't it?

I also really hate it when people start adding personality traits according to the amount of makeup you're wearing. "She's insecure, superficial, she's so much prettier without makeup". It's as if some people just don't get it that we actually like to put this stuff on our faces!

So what's your opinion on all this? Should we wear less makeup and show our true beauties?
Do you wear a lot of makeup?
